I’m delighted to share that I’ve been invited to join the judging panel for the British Wills and Probate Awards 2026, hosted by Today’s Wills & Probate and Today’s Media.
I decided to specialise in Probate Insurance in 2022, after losing my mom and seeing first-hand how difficult that time can be for the people left dealing with an estate. I was determined to create exclusive insurance solutions that were easy to understand and buy for both lay personal representatives and solicitors, with separate customer journeys for each. I’m proud of the business we’ve created since, and the impact we’re making for the people who use it.
Being asked to sit on the judging panel for these awards is a real honour. The British Wills and Probate Awards are recognised across the sector as a benchmark for excellence, bringing together solicitors, will writers, and private client professionals from across the UK to celebrate the work being done in this space. I’ll be reviewing entries alongside a panel of respected figures from across the private client and legal community, looking at the businesses and individuals raising standards in wills, probate, and estate administration.
It’s a genuinely difficult job — every year the judges say the same thing, and having seen the calibre of businesses in this sector through Insuristic’s own work, I understand why. Differentiating between strong, well-run, genuinely innovative firms isn’t easy, and I don’t take the responsibility lightly.
This recognition means a lot, not just personally but for what it says about where Insuristic sits in the sector. We started out to educate people on the risks of probate, and to deliver insurance products specifically designed to help protect their liability.
Being invited to judge alongside the people who lead this industry is a good marker that the approach is being noticed.
The awards themselves are now in their ninth year and are held this October at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, bringing together over 450 regulated solicitors and unregulated will writers for an evening of recognition across 22 categories. The shortlist is announced in late August, ahead of the ceremony on 8th October.
