About Insuristic & Insurers

Yes.  You will find Insuristic on the FCA Register with permissions for the arrangement of insurance.  Insuristic is an Appointed Representative of SJL Insurance, which you will also find on the FCA Register here

The name "Insuristic" combines “insurance” with “futuristic,” reflecting our forward-thinking approach to specialist probate and property insurance. It represents our commitment to modernising the insurance experience through digital innovation, making it easier, faster and smarter with no administration or other fees.

Insuristic was the first broker in the UK to offer a full quote-and-buy service for Probate to both lay personal representatives and solicitors.

We are committed to making insurance much easier to understand, which you will see on all of our product pages, which tell you the key things you need to know before you buy, in text, and sometimes video.

Our pro-rata refund process for our online quote and buy property products is a real differentiator and very rare in the market.

Lastly, all of our products are backed by A-rated insurers and are exclusive to Insuristic and cannot be purchased anywhere else.

Yes, all Insuristic policies are underwritten by A-rated insurers, including trusted names like Lloyd’s of London, Canopius, Munich Re and CLS Property Insight.

You can find out more on our partners page.

Getting a Quote and Buying online

You can get a quote online for the following products:

Our other products r(like specialist home, non-standard home insurance and landlords insurance) require a call back from our underwriters.  We decided not to make these products quote-and-buy, as many people need advice.

No, we will never charge you a fee for arranging a policy with Insuristic.  We earn a fair commission from the insurer, which is clearly stated in our Terms of Business.  Unlike many insurance brokers, who may charge you a £30-£50 policy fee (and earn commission), we do not see the need to charge a fee - our commission is enough.

Absolutely. Purchasers of our property products can choose from 3, 6, 9, or 12-month policy terms, with the option to renew or cancel at any time. This flexibility is ideal for probate cases where timelines can be unpredictable.

Whilst we are a digital-first insurance broker, we do have real, qualified people behind the scenes who can help you.  The best ways to contact us:

  1. Reply to a quote or policy email with your queries, and we will be in touch.  This is the best approach.
  2. Visit our Customer Support Page to contact us via email or WhatsApp.

Managing your policy

Yes, as soon as you purchase your insurance policy online with Insuristic, you’ll receive immediate access to your policy documents. They will be sent directly to your email and are also available to view or download instantly through your secure online account.

Yes, once you’ve purchased your policy, you’ll have access to a secure online portal where you can view, download, and manage your documents. You’ll also receive renewal reminders and can update or cancel your policy easily if needed.

No we will never automatically renew a policy.  We encourage you to ensure your details have not changed and then renew via our secure online portal.

Your renewal is usually sent at least 20 days before the renewal date.  You will receive a formal renewal invitation via email, which you can renew securely in our online portal.

If, for some reason, your renewal refers, our underwriters will contact you to offer an alternative solution.

Please reply to your renewal email outlining the changes that we need to make, and we will re-issue your renewal.  So examples could include you need a shorter period, or perhaps the property is empty now, and you need to remove the contents cover, or perhaps you want to increase or reduce your cover.

All of this is possible, and we will endeavour to update your renewal promptly.

Changes, Cancellations & Refunds

Unlike many insurance brokers, for our Unoccupied Home Insurance and Probate Property Insurance policies (consumer and solicitor versions), we don't charge a cancellation fee and provide a full pro-rata refund (subject to no fees).

To cancel, you either need to:

In either method, you must include a reason for cancellation, the effective date, and the reference number provided in your quote or policy email (not the policy number), and we will do the rest.

Your cancellation request will be dealt with promptly (usually within 48 working hours), and if you are due a refund, we will let you know.  Refunds will usually appear in your bank account within 5 working days, although this could be as early as hours, depending on who you bank with.

No, Insuristic does not charge admin or cancellation fees. If you cancel your policy early, you’ll receive a pro-rata refund for any unused cover, without any fees or hidden charges, subject to no claims.

Please note: legal indemnity insurance policies are non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off period, in line with industry standards.

You can cancel at any time and receive a pro-rata refund for any unused premium—without any cancellation fee.  Our email address is contained in your quote and on cover emails.

Insuristic will never charge you for making changes to your policy.  Many of our competitors will charge at least a £30 administration fee, which we don't believe is fair.

No Insuristic will never charge you a cancellation fee, even if you cancel outside the 14-day cooling-off period. It is common for insurance brokers to charge a cancellation fee of anything between £30 and £60, plus they may not provide a full pro-rata refund (common on short-term policies).  Insuristic does not do this - nor will we ever.

If you have made a claim, your policy premium is not refundable.

Legal Indemnity Insurance policies are also non refundable after 14 days.

This depends on the policy.

For Unoccupied Property Insurance Policies: If you haven't claimed, we won't charge a cancellation fee, and you will receive a pro-rata refund.

For Legal Indemnity Policies - these are non-refundable after 14 days.

If SJL arranged the insurance, this answer will depend on the insurer you are offered, so you should check your policy details.

Claims

You can make a claim 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The phone number to call is on your policy schedule.

The numbers are also in this guide: How to make an Unoccupied Home Insurance Claim

Do not disclose the existence of your insurance policy to a claimant.  The Personal Representatives should contact the underwriter.

As soon as any circumstances likely to lead to a claim under the policy become known to you, please write with details to the Claims Manager at [email protected] quoting the policy number.
